IT Network Project Manager
Seeking an IT Networking Project Manager to focus on a critical initiative involving IT infrastructure and manufacturing technology across 28 facilities. We are looking for someone with infrastructure-related project management experience and a firm understanding of networking functions.
IT Network Project Manager Contract Requirements:
- Local Presence: The contractor must be local to Knoxville and available to work in the office at least two days per week.
- Travel: The role will require travel to our 28 facilities across the Supply Division. Traveling up to 2 facilities a month.
- Interaction Skills: High interaction with executives, technology teams, and vendors is expected, requiring strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- W2 Contract: Expected to start in January
Experience:
- Demonstrated experience with IT infrastructure, including the ability to assess and document IT systems against company standards.
- Manufacturing experience, particularly working with industrial-grade machinery, and understanding their technical and operational requirements.
Facility Audits:
- Conduct an inventory of industrial machinery at each facility.
- Audit existing IT infrastructure to assess current capabilities and identify gaps relative to standards.
- Audit all hardware accessing the internet, including printers, DSI scanners, and similar devices, to ensure proper configuration and compliance.
- Engage with vendors for each machine to obtain technical manuals and specifications.
Remote Access Feasibility:
- Determine if machines are currently accessible via the internet.
- Evaluate the benefits of enabling remote access where it is not already in place.
- Recommend the appropriate platform (Zoho or Secomia) for connectivity.
Cost-Benefit Analysis:
- Perform detailed cost-benefit analyses for each facility regarding proposed connectivity and IT upgrades.
Recommendations and Implementation:
- Compile a comprehensive list of recommended IT infrastructure upgrades and document necessary actions for executive approval.
- Begin implementation on a location-by-location basis as approvals are received during the second phase of the project.
